Overview

Skype Room Systems is a modular online meeting room solution for groups of 1 to 50 people, offered at a lower price point than similar products.
My Role on the Project
In addition to guiding our team in their day-to-day design activities, I coordinated with other Skype for Business teams to maintain the cohesiveness of the experience with our other various client applications. I also relayed progress to senior design leadership and executives, brought back feedback to the broader team, and facilitated the integration of that feedback.

Problem Statement
Current meeting room systems are prohibitively expensive, forcing companies to only invest in a small number of them, rely on equipment that is not optimized for their spaces, or utilize multiple services to meet their needs.
Project Rigel aimed to create a comprehensive, integrated solution for Skype for Business customers that was both cost effective and scalable, allowing customers to deploy broadly across their enterprises and fully realize the potential of remote workers and satellite offices.
Lit Review
We leveraged learnings from a previous collaboration product (Surface Hub) both from usability studies and feedback collected from end users.
We met with the user researcher that had been on the Surface Hub project and received a full readout of pain points and feature suggestions that could be carried forward into this project.
